Going to the birds

Playing with the watercolors and trying to keep it on the watery side. I’m a fan of Thomas Schaller and his incedible watercolors and have learned a lot from looking at how soft his backgrounds are. The hard part of watercolor painting, for me, is keeping it simple and knowing when to stop. I think I’m finally getting there with this one. I'm a retired animator and Director and I've worked mostly on TV Saturday morning cartoon shows. I started in the industry in 1966 at The Disney Studios in Burbank as an in-betweener on 'The Jungle Book' and worked at Filmation Studios, Hana Barbera, MGM, Universal, Cartoon Network and several others during my 42 years in the business.
