Island Cove – oil painting

This is an 8″x10″ pallette knife, oil on canvas panel. Lots of blobs of paint on this one.
The Blue Line Gallery in Roseville is having a “Beach and Surf” show and sale in June so I’m stocking up on island themed paintings. I’ll be painting a surfboard for the show too. That’ll be fun. I was a glosser for Dewey Weber, Rick, and Gregg Noll surfboards when I was in art school back in the 60’s, so this will be like the “Circle Of Life” coming back around.

About toonsville

I'm a retired animator and Director and I've worked mostly on TV Saturday morning cartoon shows. I started in the industry in 1966 at The Disney Studios in Burbank as an in-betweener on 'The Jungle Book' and worked at Filmation Studios, Hana Barbera, MGM, Universal, Cartoon Network and several others during my 42 years in the business.
